What Harmful Ingredient Will They Find in Moist Pet Food?
It is my experiential opinion that believes preservatives will be found in the wheat gluten used in wet and moist pet foods that have allegedly killed so many pets across the nation in the last few months, weeks. I personally have no proof that this ingredient will be found in these foods, just an educated, experiential guess.
Wheat gluten, besides being an indigestible protein, of absolutely no value to us or our pet's nutritional requirements, also often contains preservatives that have been added to the gluten to keep it from "spoilage". These preservatives are added by the manufacturer of the wheat gluten, not the manufacturer of your pet's food. But the manufacturer of your pet's food takes the blame because it is that manufacturer's responsibility to KNOW what "hidden" ingredients are added to the ingredients they make your pet's food from and with!
Wheat gluten, or any gluten for that matter, is nothing more than a cheap filler that makes your pet feel full and satisfied.
Do you really need such ingredients in your pet's food?
Update 3/23/07-Now the authorities believe "rat poisoning" was found in the tainted pet foods that allegedly several animals have died from eating. Arsenic is one kind of rat poison and it is also used as a "hidden" preservative....hmmmm.
